Ovia, Edo State – December 06, 2024: 

Eastlake Exploration and Production Limited (“Eastlake”) in conjunction with OML 96 Asset Operator – Dubri Oil Company Limited (“DOCL”) has completed second season (dry season) Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the Ovia field in preparation for mobilization of drilling and production of hydrocarbons from the field.  This follows the Acceptance and Approval of the Terms of Reference / Scope of Work for this assessment by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and approval from the Federal Ministry of Environment.

 

This host communities’ engagement and field data gathering entails collection of samples from environmental components within the location and subsequent analysis of same for the relevant parameters. This was done under the supervision of Federal Ministry of Environment and NUPRC representatives.  Eastlake is working with an Environmental Management Consultant – Jenneoby by Environmental and Laboratory Services Ltd to ensure a timely conclusion for this.
